Safe quarantine. Fight of residential complex “Petrovsky quarter” with COVID-19

For almost two months, Ukraine, like most of the world, has been living “on standby.” The outbreak of COVID-19 has completely changed the usual rhythm of life of each of us. Quarantine dictates its rules, most are now forced to stay at home and rediscover the world around them. A great responsibility fell on the shoulders of developers, in whose residential complexes live thousands of families. Among such developers was the company NOVBUD, which is known for its large-scale residential complex “Petrovsky Quarter”.

First of all, it should be said that in this difficult time, residents of the capital will quietly envy the residents of such suburban complexes, where there is clean air, nature and developed infrastructure in the area (especially valuable now when public transport is not working). But now such a scale creates some difficulties for the developer, because during the pandemic it is necessary to reliably protect all residents of the LCD from the virus. And here’s how NOVBUD struggles with this.

“Petrovsky Quarter” is built on the concept of “city within a city”, so on the territory of this complex there is its own management company, which takes care of landscaping and creating comfort in the residential complex. From the first day of quarantine, the developer obliged all social infrastructure facilities located in the complex and have the right to continue their activities in accordance with the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, to comply with all sanitary and hygienic rules and regulations recommended by the Ministry of Health. With the help of special means, the employees of the management company restricted access to playgrounds, sports grounds, football, volleyball and basketball fields.

Representatives of the management company have developed a clear schedule, according to which they regularly disinfect the entire territory of the complex. For example, in the entrances of houses there is a daily disinfection of the surfaces of handrails, window sills, mirrors, mailboxes, front doors, lampshades, intercoms, elevators and stairwells.

In addition, with a frequency of 2 times a week, by spraying disinfection of benches, entrance groups, garbage cans and trash cans. In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, information signs with recommendations to avoid infection, developed by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, are placed in the entrances of all houses. All employees of the management company who carry out decontamination work are provided with professional personal protective equipment and disinfectant solutions.

Of course, it is difficult not to violate the quarantine regulations when it is spring outside the window, and it is especially difficult to explain this to children. In order to comply with all the rules introduced by the government, the security guards of the complex patrol the territory of the “Petrovsky Quarter” on a daily basis.

At the end of May, we will all be able to return to the usual rhythm of life, and from May 11, walks in the parks will be allowed, so the management company has time to take care of the beauty of the landscape. Throughout the complex the grass is carefully mown, the irrigation system is working, trees and flowers are blooming.

The developer’s care, the efficiency of the service company and the responsibility of the residents – this is why no cases of COVID-19 infection were detected in the quarter. “Fight – win,” said Taras Shevchenko.
